Alicia Spangler and I are currently taking a seminar class titled “Communicating Science in the 21st Century.” We have discussed how we can relate our scientific discoveries to the public and fellow researchers using tools such as databases, websites, blogs, Wikipedia, and YouTube. Our running project has been to edit and/or create Wikipedia entries based on our area of research. The result has been a new and improved “Genetic modification” section to the Sugar beet page, authored by Alicia, and I added a new page called “Organic beans.”
